Welcome to Northport Chorale
A vibrant mixed-voice chorus uniting singers of all ages and backgrounds, performing under the talented direction of Matthew Ho throughout the year.
The Northport Chorale was formed in 1982 as part of the Northport Continuing Education Department. Although the Chorale retains close ties with the Northport-East Northport School system, we are now a separate not-for-profit 501( c )(3) corporation with a Board of Directors elected by the membership.
A mixed-voice chorus of approximately fifty-five members, the Chorale attracts singers of varied ages, backgrounds, and levels of experience. Under the direction of Matthew Ho, the Chorale performs several times during the year.
Matthew Ho
DIRECTOR
A Long Island native, Matthew Ho is the Band Director at Roosevelt High School. In addition to his work as an educator he performs with the Massapequa Philharmonic Park Avenue Chamber Symphony as a horn player. He also works as an organist and keyboardist for several Churches in the Nassau County area. This is his fourth year as the conductor of the Northport Chorale and he is very excited for the season!
Kelly Horsted
ACCOMPANIST
Kelly Horsted is a New York–based accompanist, music director, and vocal coach. He has been a longtime music director with The American Opera Project’s Composers & the Voice series and has appeared on the Carnegie Hall stage with MidAmerica Productions. Recent credits include Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd at Madison Lyric Stage and Amahl and the Night Visitors at Queens Opera Studio. A faculty member at Queens College and Adelphi University, he earned his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Eastman School of Music, where he was a fellowship recipient and Kneisel Competition winner.
Kathy Ganzenmuller
VICE PRESIDENT
Kathy Ganzenmuller has been a member of the Northport Chorale for almost 30 years. When asked about her long standing participation in the Chorale, Kathy stated, "It has brought me great fun and lots of joy. Even though some pieces are challenging, when concert time rolls around I am proud to be a member of such a rewarding group."

President
Su has been a member of the Northport Chorale since 1984 and has been President on and off for 15 years. Her favorite part of the Chorale is "the music - I love singing in harmony."
